Patrick Chen, MD received his A.B. in cell biology cum laude from Dartmouth College. He subsequently received his M.D. from Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth where he received the Hitchcock Foundation Pilot Grant and the AAN Annual Meeting Scholarship. He returned home to the west coast and was drawn to UCSD's collaborative and innovative neuroscience environment.
In residency he has published as first author in Stroke, Neurocritical Care and Neurology and serves as a reviewer for the Resident & Fellow section of Neurology. His academic interests are in stroke resource utilization, consciousness & monitoring in the NeuroICU and medical education. In his spare time he enjoys surfing and travel. He will be pursuing a neurocritical care fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)/Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) following his chief resident year.
