The UC San Diego Division of Child Neurology, part of the Department of Neurosciences, is a large and diverse group of pediatric neurologists involved in clinical care, clinical trials, basic research and education.

Overview

The UC San Diego Child Neurology Residency Program is a five year categorical program that offers residents two years of training in general pediatrics followed by three years of comprehensive education in the treatment of both adult and pediatric neurologic disorders.

Our clinical base is at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego, a free standing hospital serving over 6 million people in 3 counties in southern California (San Diego, Imperial and Riverside) as well as a high volume of patients from Mexico.

Our Services

The Pediatric Neurology Clinic at Rady Children’s Hospital offers comprehensive services to evaluate and manage neurological disorders of childhood, both in the inpatient and outpatient settings.  Among our services, we offer a comprehensive epilepsy center and specialty clinics in many areas including Rett syndrome, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disorders, cerebrovascular disorders and headaches, among others.  Our active neonatal neurology group  covers several neonatal units including the Level 4 NICU at Rady Children's Hospital and serves as the neurology referral center for all NICUs in San Diego county.
