Dr. Gertsch is a clinical neurologist with special expertise in neurophysiology. He maintains an active clinical practice and research program in neurophysiology at UCSD. He is the Medical Director of the Interventional Neurophysiology service, and also attends subspecialty clinics for epilepsy/seizures, sleep disorders, and surgical neuromuscular disorders such as thoracic outlet syndrome.

David Allison is a neurophysiologist/IOM Specialist at UCSD Medical Center. He holds a doctorate in neuroscience from Brigham Young University, where he also was a faculty research associate. He earned a B.S. in Biochecmistry/Cell Biology from UC San Diego.
While at BYU he won a graduate student fellowship award for his work on "Cocaine disinhibits VTA dopamine neurons via its anesthetic effects."
