We are committed to providing the best diagnostic, therapeutic, palliative and supportive care to our patients diagnosed with Huntington's disease (HD).

Team of Experts

The UC San Diego Health Genetically Handicapped Person’s Program (GHPP) Clinic is staffed by a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals who specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of persons affected with HD. The team includes:

  • Neurologists
  • Psychiatrist
  • Clinical nurse specialist
  • Neuropsychologists
  • Social worker
  • Center coordinator
  • Dietician

Our  team of clinicians have extensive knowledge and experience caring for individuals genetically at risk for HD and those with symptoms of HD. All team members play an important part in developing a plan of care that will meet any medical, social, and personal needs.

Comprehensive Services

Clinic visits include complementary scheduling for:

  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Speech and swallowing evaluations
  • Mobility equipment referrals
  • Other recurring services

Referrals to community resources and the frequency of follow-up clinic visits will be determined based on the needs of each individual patient.
