Summary
Kate Oakley graduated from UCSD with a B.S. in General Biology in 2009, and a M.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology in 2010. Her Master's research focused on nutrient response mechanisms of Phaeodactylum tricornutum, a member of a class of phytoplankton called diatoms. Kate prefers to use a paper weekly appointment book to stay organized, in contrast to 99% of the world's population. Kate was formerly a popular radio show host and DJ for UCSD's KSDT radio station, and is a huge fan of Chipotle.
