Our research team at UC San Diego is conducting a study to examine how Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) may contribute to the potential risk of Alzheimer's disease. Participation in this study may or may not benefit you directly and may result in new knowledge that may help others.

Maximum compensation for completing entire study (performed over 16-18 weeks):$715.00
- Age 65-85 years
- Independently living and able to drive
- OSA (AHI ≥ 15/h) or no OSA
Rapid COVID Tests
What you may be asked to do during this study:
2 in-clinic daytime visits for medical history, physical exam, and neurocognitive assessments.
3 in-clinic overnight visit to assess OSA presence and severity
Two of these visits will require breathing either regular air (room air) or supplemental oxygen while you sleep.
1 visits in Sorrento Valley for an MRI and PET scan of the head duirng the day or evening (not overnght)
A 3-month trial to either treat your sleep apnea (positive airway pressure therapy) or use therapeutic nightly oxygen.
