Our research team at UC San Diego is conducting a study to investigate whether tongue-strengthening exercises might be an effective treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). We are seeking volunteers who have been diagnosed with OSA for this 6-week study.

Maximum compensation for completing entire study (exercises done over 6 weeks):
$400.00
Qualifications:
Age 18-79 years
Known diagnosis of OSA
What you may be asked to do during this study:
Home sleep test, if necessary, to determine presence and severity of OSA
Two visits to the UCSD Sleep Clinic in La Jolla, for the measuring of your tongue strength before and after 6 weeks of tongue exercises
Two visits to Dr. Todd Morgan, DMD, for fitting and delivery of a custom dental device used during the study
Perform tongue strengthening exercises with dental device for 10 minutes twice a day, for 6 weeks
