Dr. Anna Narezkina graduated summa cum laude from Smolensk State Medical Academy, one of the largest medical, research and educational centers in Russia. Starting from the second year of medical school Dr. Narezkina has worked in the Institute of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy on the molecular mechanisms of antibiotic resistance of nosocomial pathogens. After the fourth year of a six-year medical school program she came to Fox Chase Cancer Center (Philadelphia, PA) to Dr. Ann Skalka’s lab where she was studying molecular mechanisms of retroviral DNA integration. Dr. Narezkina is currently a fellow in Cardiology and she is working at Dr. Knowlton’s lab on the effects of miRNA-146a on the pathogenesis of Coxsackievirus infection.
