About Us

Recent advances in genomics and systems biology have provided a powerful new platform for biomedical and translational research, with the potential to transform clinical practice. The Division of Genomics and Precision Medicine brings together UC San Diego's world-renowned strengths in biomedicine, basic and clinical science, pharmacology, bioengineering and computer science to accelerate discovery and translation in genetics and genomic medicine. Our faculty are at the forefront of ground-breaking research in understanding the genetic basis of health and disease. In addition, we are a full service laboratory for clinical genetic counseling and testing.

To promote excellence in education, our faculty run the UC San Diego Training Program in Genetics supported by the National Institutes of Health. Administratively, we are a division in Department of Medicine within School of Medicine at UC San Diego.
