UCSD Global Health Program (GHP)

The UC San Diego Global Health Program (GHP) is the first of its kind within the University of California system and one of only a handful in North America. Offering a comprehensive initiation into the exciting and rapidly growing field of Global Health, the interdisciplinary degrees offered by the GHP aids in understanding and productively intervening in processes of health, illness, and healing across the globe. The GHP offers a Master of Arts (MA), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BS), and a Minor in Global Health.

The GHP offers a Bachelor of Arts (BA), a Bachelor of Science (BS), and a Minor in Global Health. GHP undergraduate programs are designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of factors related to illness, health, and healing from a global comparative and interdisciplinary perspective. All Global Health majors participate in a field experience project at a research or clinical site.

The GHP offers a one-year Master of Arts (MA) graduate degree that focuses on global health policy, health equity, social epidemiology, global health research and medical anthropology.

The GHP also sponsors a range of events, from the critical dialogues of the Quarterly Conversations in Global Health to the annual Global Health Field Experience Expo and Horizons of Global Health Research Symposium, a vast culmination of the year's global health work.
