Dr. Yuri Shindo attended college at the University of California, Los Angeles for her undergraduate degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics. She obtained her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University where she found a passion for serving the medically complex and underserved population of Cleveland, Ohio. She stayed at Case Western Reserve University and the Cleveland VA Medical Center for her residency training in internal medicine where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Shindo's interests include medical education, quality improvement, and addiction medicine. She is a preceptor at the UCSD Free Clinic where she teaches residents and provides primary care to the local underserved community. She also serves as the Medical Director of the Union of Pan Asian Communities, a Country-contracted drug and alcohol treatment program.
When she's not working, she loves spending quality time with her husband and young daughter. She also enjoys jogging and tending to her houseplant collection.
