Awards and Honors

Department of Medicine's Graduating Housestaff Teaching Award 2017

I am proud to be a part of UC San Diego Health Hospital Medicine because when I first moved to San Diego as a junior high school student, I quickly fell in love with the beauty of the community and felt a strong affinity for the people who live here. Family, educational and career needs have pulled me away from San Diego several times during my lifetime, but I always return because I consider this city my hometown.  After serving in the Marine Corps, I moved back to San Diego to attend UCSD. I even met my wife during a summer course in German at a local college. I feel privileged to work in the UC San Diego Health System where I get to take care of wonderful patients along with many other talented physicians and care providers.
