The Division of General Internal Medicine is composed of over 140 physicians spread between three faculty practices, the San Diego VA Medical Center and several research laboratories. We are part of the Department of Medicine and our mission is to provide world class patient-centered health care, train the next generation of doctors and conduct research that applies to our patients and the larger community. Within the Division we have deep expertise in population health analytics, bioinformatics, infectious diseases and travel medicine, diabetes management, telemedicine and ambulatory information technology.
We constantly strive to participate in collaborative and interdisciplinary activities that lead to medical discoveries, improved teaching techniques, scholarship, and creative works that advance and enrich society.
We are proud that every year many of our doctors are voted “Best Doctors” by their peers in San Diego County.
