The Seaweed Canyon Cardiovascular Physiology Laboratory

Seaweed Cardiovascular Physiology Core Services

(Not limited to the following)

  1. Invasive left heart and right heart functions and pathological cardiac models studies:
    • Hemodynamics with or without pressure volume loops studies with various agents' injections.
    • Blood pressure measurement in conscience mice with telemetry, in anesthetized mice with catheters.
    • Electrocardiogram (ECG) in conscience mice using telemetry, or under anesthetized with isoflurane
    • Intra-cardiac pacing with electric programming stimulation
    • Transverse aortic constriction (TAC) and post TAC pressure gradient measurements
    • Myocardial infarction
    • Ischemia reperfusion
    • Mini pump implantation
    • Neonatal mice apex resection
    • Aortic stenosis wire injury
    • Intra- cardiac, ventricles and venous injections of virus, cells or experiment agents.
    • Blood and tissue collections

       2.     Non-invasive cardiac function studies:

    •  Echocardiography:
      • Pulsed-Wave Doppler (aortic flow and pulmonary flow)
      • 2D (chamber size and function, aortic arch size)
      • 4 Chamber view with Pulsed-Wave Doppler and Tissue Doppler
      • Strain Analysis
    • Other measurements
