Faculty in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine are dedicated to providing superb clinical care to patients affected by heart and vascular diseases. Our clinical activities are based at the
Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center,
UC San Diego Medical Center in Hillcrest, the
Veterans Affairs Medical Center, and outreach clinics throughout the region. We work closely with our colleagues in cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, neurology and pulmonary vascular medicine to provide seamless, multidisciplinary care to patients affected by cardiovascular diseases.
As academic physicians,
our faculty is engaged in basic and clinical/translational cardiovascular research to identify and determine mechanisms behind the development of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, due to the close collaboration among the various disciplines, new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches are rapidly brought from discovery to the patient’s bedside. Subspecialty training programs are offered in cardiovascular diseases, advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation, electrophysiology, interventional cardiology and endovascular interventions.
