The Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship at UCSD is a 12-24 month multimodality fellowship training opportunity conducted at the UCSD affiliated hospitals encompassing cardiovascular MRI and CT, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. The training exposure will be composed of a core curriculum and modified with specific goals and time commitment of the trainee.
The curriculum includes direct observation/performance/supervision of exams, formal coursework, interdisciplinary conferences and research. Coursework will be taught by faculty in Cardiology, Radiology and Biomedical Engineering. Advanced Imaging Fellows will contribute to monthly interdisciplinary imaging conferences for general Cardiology fellows and Radiology residents. Participation in imaging research is expected during fellowship, and mentorship will be arranged according to the interest of the fellow. Opportunities exist for imaging projects in preclinical and clinical/translational environments.
