Congratulations to Dr. Maile Karris, who recently was awarded a GEMSSTAR grant from NIA.  This grant is designed to help people to conduct research in geriatrics who are not geriatrics trained.  Dr. Karris is looking at how behavior can positively impact pain management for chronic pain in patients with HIV, in an attempt to move away from high doses of opioid treatments.

Congratulations to our Medicine For Seniors Clinic staff, who were awarded the UC San Diego Health Clinic of the Month Award.

West Health and the UCSD Division of Geriatrics have partnered to support one of our recent geriatrics fellowship graduates, Dr. Lindsey Yourman, to be trained in a two- year fellowship focused on Quality Improvement and Implementation Science.  We are excited about this partnership to train geriatrics health professionals to improve the care of older adults.
