Lena earned her Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Catholic University of Applied Sciences Aachen in Germany. At HSRC, Lena currently is involved in the evaluation of La Maestra Family Clinic’s SAMHSA-funded projects. She manages the evaluation of the Medication Assisted Treatment - Prescription Drug and Opioid Addiction (MAT-PDOA) Program and contributes to the evaluation of the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) and of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC).
In addition, she supports the Suicide Prevention Council (SPC) Program Evaluation and the Data De-identification Project. Prior to the position at UC San Diego, Lena worked as a Research Associate at the German Institute on Addiction and Prevention Research.
