Dr. Cheng was born and raised in Southern California. She has been involved in EMS in LA County since landing her first EMT job with a 911 company working closely with the LA County Fire Department in 2004. Most recently she has been working with the staff and medical director at the UCLA Daniel Friedman Paramedic Program to train paramedics in LA County. She recently completed her residency training at UCLA where she served as chief resident in her final year. Her clinical and research interests include EMS issues in the pediatric population, EMS education (residents, paramedics, and EMTs), and underserved populations. Outside of the ED, she enjoys running (first half-marathon this past June!), camping/fly-fishing, backpacking, and spending time with her husband and dog.
