Dr. Abdulaziz “Aziz” Almehlisi grew up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He received his medical degree from King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During his years in Medical School he volunteered with the Saudi EMS as an EMT-B. After finishing Medical School, he joined the Department of Emergency Medicine at King Saud University as a Teaching Assistant, a position he still holds. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at The George Washington University in Washington D.C. where he served as a Chief Resident. In his last year of residency, he completed a mini-fellowship in Telemedicine. He Joined UCSD in 2017 as a Critical Care Fellow in the Department of Anesthesiology. His academic interests include the Utilization of Telemedicine in acute resuscitation & critical care management, Resuscitative TEE, Cardiac Critical Care and Mechanical Circulatory Support. He is currently completing an Ultrasound fellowship at UCSD. He enjoys running on the beach with his dog, travelling and food!
