Dr. Cynthia Purviance completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego in Molecular Biology with a minor in Anthropology, her medical degree at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine, and her residency training at the LA County +USC Medical Center. Since completing her residency training Dr. Purviance has worked in and around San Diego County and has travelled to rural areas to provide emergency care. She teaches ACLS and has taught ATLS, PALS and a nurse practitioner course. Dr. Purviance’s academic interests include international emergency medicine, history of medicine, and incarceration medicine. When not working Dr. Purviance enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.
