Dr. Michael Lindsey is the current wilderness medicine fellow at UC San Diego. He completed his undergraduate degree in microbiology at Texas A&M University. Before deciding to apply to medical school, Dr. Lindsey worked as a lab technician studying malaria vector genetics. He then went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. He received his residency training at Texas Tech University in El Paso where he was awarded the John F Haynes Medical Toxicology Scholarship. He has particular academic interests in wilderness toxicology and travel medicine. He spends his free time rock climbing, scuba diving, hiking, and dirt biking.
