Julie Akiko Gladsjo, MD, PhD
A California native, Dr. Gladsjo earned her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of California, Irvine. Initially focused on research, she completed a PhD at Auburn University, before deciding that she was more suited to hands-on patient care. She studied Medicine at the University of California, San Diego where she graduated among the top of her class, earning honors in multiple subjects. She completed a medical internship at Scripps Mercy Hospital, and then went on to complete her Dermatology residency at UC San Diego, where she served as Chief Resident. After completing her residency and attaining Board certification, she pursued advanced fellowship training in Dermatologic Mohs Micrographic Surgery at UC San Diego. Currently, she works with residents at the VA Clinic in Oceanside, performing Mohs and dermatologic surgery, and in private practice in Encinitas and La Jolla.
