Description of Project: | The University of California Research eXchange (UC ReX) Data Explorer (i2b2 SHRINE), is a secure, web based system that enables UC investigators to identify potential research study cohorts at the five UC medical centers. Users can conduct interactive searches of demographics, diagnosis and procedures (ICD-9 and ICD-10), medications, laboratory, visit details, vital signs and vital status data derived from patient care activities at UC Davis, Irvine, Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco. The output of each query is a numeric count of cohorts by site that match the criteria identified in the query. The numeric counts can help assess the feasibility of a study or hypotheses by identifying whether there are sufficient prospective subjects within the UC Health system. Quality administrators and analysts can use counts for quality initiatives. |
