James Killeen, MD is a UCSD Clinical Professor for Emergency Medicine, Bioinformatics and Hyperbaric Medicine. He is Director of Information Technology Services for the UCSD Emergency Department, Associate Director of Clinical Systems, and Fellowship Director for Clinical Informatics at UCSD and Chief Medical Officer for San Diego Health Connect. He has over 50 peer review articles, and serves as the informatics section head for Journal of Emergency Medicine, and reviewer for Western Journal of Emergency Medicine and Journal of AMIA. His EMR accomplishments include the design & implementation of an Emergency Department Information System (Web-CHARTS), community clinic information exchange with UCSD (UCSD-HIE), San Diego EMS Hub linking prehospital records & EKGs to hospitals and the technical lead for the ONC funded San Diego Beacon Project which has successfully stood up the first San Diego Regional Health Information Exchange (HIE) now known as San Diego Health Connect. He has also successfully lead several Epic implementations including ASAP and Care Everywhere. His hardware accomplishments include several patents on medication delivery devices and serves on several advisory boards.
