Chronic Pain Study
We are looking for patients who:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 80 years
- Have taken opioid pain medications for at least 6 months
- Have taken a stable dose of opioid pain medication for at least 1 month (Examples of opioid medications: Kadian, Methadone, Morphine, MS Contin, Opana, Oxycontin, Dilaudid, Percocet, Vicodin, Norco, Fentanyl patch)
We are studying the presence of sleep apnea in patients with chronic pain who take these types of medications. Sleep apnea is stopping breathing during sleep.
The study involves answering questions about your quality of life, taking an overnight sleep study at your home, and referral for treatment if you are found to have sleep apnea.
