Our lab studies interactions between the immune and nervous systems in response to CNS/PNS injury. We aim to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies to improve recovery from CNS/PNS injury and to prevent the development of neuropathic pain (i.e. pain caused by damage or disease of the nervous system). We use a broad range of both fundamental and cutting-edge models and approaches.

Our specific areas of investigation relate to:

The role of extracellular proteolysis in CNS/PNS Repair
The role of Immunity in Neuropathic Pain
The development of Nanocarriers crossing intact neurovascular barriers for theranostic use in neurological and mental health diseases.
