UCSD Neuroanesthesia is one of the premier neuroanesthesia programs in North America. The division has a robust clinical program with fellowship trained neuroanesthesiologists providing 24-hour neuroanesthesia coverage. The clinical case load includes endovascular and open neurovascular procedures, awake craniotomies for tumor resection and the treatment of epilepsy, and deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders. Faculty provide coverage for the largest acoustic neuroma program in the US and a rapidly growing intraoperative MRI program. Expert clinical care of neurologically injured patient extends well beyond the operating room. UCSD has three neurocritical care boarded intensivists who manage a broad spectrum of neurological disorders in our closed 12-bed Neuro ICU in Jacob's Medical Center and who provide 24-hour consult coverage at our Hillcrest campus. Our faculty are committed to providing state of the art clinical care as well as education to Residents and Fellows in neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care.
