Ellen Lee, MD, a T32 postdoctoral research fellow in Geriatric Mental
Health at the Stein Institute for Research
on Aging has been awarded a highly prestigious Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Scholar
Award. A very small number of postdoctoral
scholars across the campus are selected
for this award.
The award ceremony was
hosted November 28, 2018, at 4:00 p.m.
in the Price Center Ballroom.
Dr. Lee is the first MD to receive this award
since it started in 2013.
Dr. Lee’s research
interests lie in understanding mechanisms
of metabolic dysfunction in persons with
serious mental illnesses.
Currently, Dr. Lee
is the principal investigator of Veterans
Affairs and NARSAD-funded research projects that investigate the role of adipokines
in obesity, insulin resistance, and aging in
persons with chronic schizophrenia.
