The COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt lives and bring unwelcome news and ever-changing guidelines. We at the ACTRI continue to work hard to ensure that our research participants, clinical researchers, study teams and staff have access to critical resources and remain up to date on the latest developments. The circumstances have led to creative and sometimes challenging new developments, including moving our staff to a mostly virtual capacity, facilitating the upgrade to our pharmacy, releasing a new virtual education game, IRB Please, for investigators and new approaches to keeping our clinic operational for interventional clinical trials.
The ACTRI is also taking the lead to help UCSD develop a comprehensive research biobank that will be available for a myriad of research projects. The IRB has approved the study, and Prof. David Boyle, as director of the ACTRI Biobank, will work with clinicians, patients and research teams to develop this institutional resource. To submit your request please visit
Translational Research Technology (TRT) Division Page. A diverse governance committee will help us prioritize projects and distribute samples in a transparent fashion.
We hope that our UCSD ACTRI community remains healthy and safe, and we will continue to promote good safety measures and a positive work environment, both virtually and in our clinic. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
Thank you for your continued support of our mission and vision as we look forward to another year of innovative growth and development.
