As we continue to face the challenging landscape of the coronavirus
pandemic, we would like to thank our amazing clinic staff who remain
focused and dedicated. They are working tirelessly to ensure patients
are enrolled in new vaccine trials and continue to receive the care
needed for other enrolled studies. The staff also actively engage new
researchers who seek to bring additional clinical trials to our study
teams.
Our efforts to further expand our Community
Engagement unit continue to move forward with the transition of
leadership from our original CE Director, Howard Taras, to our new
director, Jesse Nodora. Both Howard and Jesse are featured in our
faculty and staff highlights below, and are instrumental in moving our
CTSA hub along the population-centric trajectory we have outlined in our
recent grant submission.
For the 10th year, our pilot project funding
is now available to investigators. The ACTRI has provided over $3
million in funding for more than 120 pilot projects since its inception.
These one-year competitive awards (up to $30,000) provide funding for
early stage projects, prioritize early-career faculty and seek to
promote the continued development of clinical and translational
research. This year, we have specific open categories in
academic-community partnerships, dissemination & implementation
science, and clinical and translational research. More information on
available funding and how to apply can be found below and on our
website.
Part of our continued efforts of reaching a
broader audience include our increased social media presence and ACTRI
website updates. As our units roll out their innovative programs and
resources available to researchers, affiliates and the community, we
will further promote these efforts on our updated website, social media
pages (links below), email blasts and in bimonthly newsletters. We
appreciate our ACTRI members and look forward to continuing to service
the needs of our outstanding research community.
