During the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, remote clinical trial monitors are allowed to use the secure web-based EpicLink for chart review of study patients. This modification of the Research Monitor EHR Access Program will enable access while the emergency continues.
To obtain remote EHR access for your study monitors:
- The research team is responsible to ensure the monitor completes both the remote monitor application (Form D1309) and the required HIPAA Privacy and Security Training.
- The research team notifies the UCSD Health Sciences Office of Privacy and Compliance when the form and HIPAA training are completed. To make this notification, please call 858-657-7487 or send email to email@example.com.
- The research team must submit an IS EHR access request (in Service Now) for each monitor involved in their study to gain access to EpicLink for remote monitoring.
For more information, including how to reinstate access, how to reset a password, and additional detailed instructions, please consult the Research Monitor EHR Access Program standard operating procedure (SOP) by clicking here (access requires AD authentication).
For questions, please contact the UCSD Health Office of Compliance and Privacy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
