Application Process

Short-term TL1 Training

Students are responsible for initiating contact with the faculty member(s) of their choice and for approaching them to serve as summer mentor(s). Discussion should include potential projects that are appropriate for a short-term practical clinical research experience. A competitive application includes the IRB approval (with all subcommittee approvals; e.g., Conflict of Interest, Biosafety, and Radiation Safety). Consideration will be given to projects in which  students will be able to have a substantive role, even without the extensive clinical experience they will acquire later. Ideally, the projects would also be focused enough to allow the students to complete the work, analyze the data, and eventually present the results in oral and written formats to a larger audience.
