UC San Diego Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute (ACTRI) offers mentored, funded postdoctoral fellowship training support through the ACTRI TL1 Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The goal of this program is to develop scholars’ skills in advanced clinical and translational research. Candidates must have earned a doctoral degree (including PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent), and typically have no more than two years of postdoctoral research experience. The two-year fellowship includes participation in career development seminars, a small budget for research and training expenses, and one year of an ACTRI-funded stipend to support post-doc salary. Their departments will provide salary support for the additional one year. The didactic aspect of the fellowship may entail coursework at the ACTRI’s Clinical Research Enhancement through Supplemental Training (CREST) program. Financial assistance will be provided to scholars with coursework tailored to the fellow’s prior training and educational needs. Mentorship and experiential learning opportunities will bolster fellows’ research experience.
