​Our purpose is to encourage and advance research in glycobiology, promote collaboration, support the next generation of glycoscience researchers and make glycoscience an integral part of life and material science through outreach and education.

Welcome Dr. Raghavendra (Raghu) Kikkeri Venkatanarayan! Raghu has received a Fulbright Scholarship to support a collaborative project in the Varki lab.

July 2017
Kunio Kawanishi, postdoctoral fellow in the Varki Lab has received a 2 year AHA Fellowship.

June 2017
Jonathon Okerblom of the Varki lab successfully defended his thesis. 

May 2017 
Greg Golden, BMS Graduate Student in the Esko lab has received a Microbial Sciences Graduate Research award.

2018 Symposium

The 21st San Diego Glycobiology Symposium (SDGS) will be a conjoint meeting with the NHLBI Programs of Excellence in Glycosciences meeting (Inter PEG). SDGS will be held Friday and Saturday, March 9-10, 2018 and is open to all researchers interested in Glycobiology. Trainees are invited to NextGen on March 8, 2018. All Academic attendees of SDGS are invited to the Inter PEG presentations on Sunday March 11, 2018.
