When and Where
Commencement will take place on
Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM on the Commencement Lawn of the T. Denny Sanford Medical Education and Telemedicine Center. Graduates should plan to arrive at
MET Lower Auditorium by 9:00 AM on Sunday, June 2, 2019 to receive instructions regarding the Commencement Ceremony. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00 AM (and yes, you will need all that time to receive your instructions and prepare for the procession!). The ceremony usually runs about 2 1/2 hours.

Our 2019 Commencement Keynote Speaker is
Richard Besser, MD, President and CEO of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. Besser previously served as Chief Health and Medical Editor for ABC News, Director of the Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Acting Director of the CDC, and Pediatric Residency Director at UC San Diego School of Medicine. He is a member of the National Academy of Medicine and received the Surgeon General's Medallion for his leadership at the CDC during the H1N1 influenza pandemic response.
What to Wear
The ceremony will be tented and on grass. Wear something comfortable and cool. It’s difficult to predict the weather, but June can be very warm.
Guest parking is free on the weekends; parking staff and signs will direct participants into the Gilman parking structure. Parking information can be found
