The Department of Neurosciences laboratories are located primarily in five buildings on the medical school campus, each of which is within 100 to 300 feet of each other. These include the Center for Neural Circuits and Behavior, Cellular and Molecular Medicine East, Basic Science Building, Medical Teaching Facility, and the Clinical Sciences Building.

Additional laboratory space is also located in the San Diego Veterans Administration Medical Center, located 300 feet east of the Clinical Sciences Building. Studies of species requiring fresh seawater are carried out in Ritter Hall on the grounds of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography located at La Jolla Shores Drive, just south of the Scripps Pier.

The library is a center for study, reading, and scholarship at UC San Diego. Its collections and services are basic resources supporting undergraduate and graduate instructional programs, as well as advanced research. While each library may have varying rules, all are open to all members of the UC San Diego community.

The Biomedical Library contains collections in biology and medicine which are especially rich in the journal literature of the basic sciences and clinical medicine, with emphasis on cellular and molecular biology, neurosciences and genetics.
