Tribal Health

Under the leadership of Lindia Willies-Jacobo, MD, FAAP, Assistant Dean, Diversity and Community Partnerships (former), and Alec Calac (MD/PhD Student), the Association of Native American Medical Students (ANAMS) was established at UC San Diego School of Medicine in 2018. With 18 tribal nations in San Diego County, we are strongly committed to working with local tribes and their associated health programs to recruit and train the next generation of American Indian and Alaska Native physicians.
