The Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute building, named in recognition of a leadership gift from Lisa and Steve Altman, establishes a central facility that enables laboratory and clinical researchers to work side-by-side and share resources in their efforts to better understand and treat disease. OurClinical and Translational Research Institute is constantly seeking ways to speed discoveries from bench to bedside: this new facility will help speed those cures along even faster.
Opened in March 2016, this building is located on UC San Diego’s medical campus in La Jolla alongside Jacobs Medical Center, Moores Cancer Center, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and Shiley Eye Institute. It serves as a physical and metaphorical link between the university’s clinical and research enterprises.
Private investments in Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute accelerate our translational research, speeding new, more effective treatments from the laboratory benches to the patients’ bedsides.
